What makes TeleTech an industry leader? Why is it a great place to work? It’s the people. These individuals who exceed expectations define us as a team and as a company. At TeleTech it is important to recognize exemplary performers. There are many ways TeleTech recognizes excellence, one of which is through the prestigious “Values In Action” award.

Demonstrating TeleTech’s core values - Trust, Respect, Integrity, Passion, and Communication is celebrated through this award. Potential recipients of this award are nominated by their colleagues who share their stories.  I asked some of the recipients of the award and received some wonderful answers about how they put TeleTech Values into Action every day.

How important is being recognized in the daily upholding of TeleTech values?

“It is great to get recognized for my contribution to the fundamental success of the site however I’d be remiss if I did not acknowledge that my success is due to having a great team to back me up.”

- Trevor Russell, Quality Specialist (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada)

Values In Action award recipients are the ones who make TeleTech a great place to work. Can you share how you exhibit the TeleTech values at work?

“I try to put myself in my team members’ place and show empathy whenever possible.  I think the most important thing to me is to communicate to my team members that my first purpose is to serve them.”

Margo Bramlett, Team Lead (TeleTech@Home)

How does it feel to be recognized for your hard work and exhibiting the values of TeleTech?

One quality of being a true Leader is by “Walk the Talk” no matter what the road blocks are and not giving in because other people tell you that you’re nuts. You are nuts and you should be proud of it. Stick with what you believe in. Giving other people an inspiration to do the right thing… The key is not to worry about being successful, but to instead work toward being remarkable – and the success will naturally follow. If you do work that you love, and work that fulfills you, the rest will come. Would you do your job and do the right thing and not be paid for it? I would do the right thing because I love my job and make it my home. It feels great to wake up every morning excited to go to work because I know that TeleTech is my partner in believing that every ounce of hard work is being recognized.

-  Gabriel Benjamin Encinas, Team Lead (Sta. Rosa, Philippines)

What motivates you to be rewarded in your work and did you feel motivated for being recognized?

“I find motivation in the simple fact of getting my job well done. It’s a matter of pride, I just can’t stand doing something without putting forth my best effort, and of course mistakes are not allowed for me. Regarding the second part of the question let me tell you that recognition itself does not involve motivation for me, though being recognized makes me feel gratified, it’s really a pleasant sensation.”

- Ezequiel Skurnik, Business Planning Specialist (Argentina)

What is the most important TeleTech value among the 5 (trust, respect, integrity, passion, and communication) to you and why?

“Passion. Why passion is so important? It not only serves as a driver for me, but helps keep me inspired along the way. If you have a passion of what you do, that means you genuinely enjoy it and probably couldn’t envision another way of life. The reason passion is a key ingredient to success is that you quickly learn that by having it, everything you do seems easier, more fun and you feel as if you found exactly what you’re supposed to be doing. That’s what passion is all about. Helping you feel genuinely passionate about your life and work.”

-  Joven Almeda, Technology Sr. Manager (Dumaguete, Philippines)

“In my opinion, the five values of TeleTech namely Trust, Respect, Integrity, Passion and Communication are all interrelated and blended together to such a high degree that I find it very difficult, if not impossible, separating them and placing separate values or importance on each.   I realize that in order to achieve excellence in our daily tasks or responsibilities, all 5 values must come to play.

For me, to be trusted, we must show that we are reliable in delivering on our responsibilities and our promises.  This cannot be done without INTEGRITY.  For me Integrity simply means “Mean what you say and do what you mean”.

To succeed in COMMUNICATING, we must employ a great deal of RESPECT for those we communicate with.  Season your communication with a generous dose of PASSION and you are sure to get the desired results.

To conclude, Trust, Respect, Integrity, Passion and Communication cannot be isolated. They must be applied together as one BIG WHOLE and they will continue to serve as the Pillars of our continued success as a Best-in-Class Organization.  In short, one cannot subsist without the other.”

Daniel Dotse, Payroll Supervisor (Accra, Ghana)
